Born c1806 and baptised on 8 October 1806 at St. Mary's, Lewisham, London, England the son of George Walpole of Greenwich, Kent, England, and his wife Catherine. Educated at St. John's & Trinity Colleges, Cambridge University. Ordained deacon on 20 December 1835 at London, England. Missionary in Madras, India (1836-37). Arrived at Sydney, New South Wales on 31 October 1837 per "Andromache" from Plymouth, England (his diary of the voyage is held by the National Library of Australia). At Bathurst, New South Wales (1837-41). At Ashfield and Concord, N.S.W. (1842-45). At Sydney, N.S.W. (1846-48). Returned to England in June 1848 with his wife, Mary A., and family per "Chaseley." Acted as Chaplain on the "Mount Stewart Elphinstone" which arrived at Sydney, N.S.W. on 3 October 1849 from Cork, Ireland. Arrived at Melbourne on 28 December 1850 per "Rodney" en route from Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, to Sydney. Departed Sydney on 19 January 1851 per "Blenheim" for London, England. Chaplain of the "Defence," a hulk at Woolwich (1857-62). Vicar of Coaley, Gloucestershire (1862-69). Died on 22 April 1869 at 90 Wimpole Street, London, Middlesex, England.
