Born c1818 at Leswalt, Wigtown, Scotland, the son of Charles Pringle, farmer, and his wife Elizabeth, nee Melrose. Arrived at Melbourne on 1 November 1849 per "Travancore" from London, England. A licensed preacher of the United Presbyterian Church of Scotland. At Kilmore in 1850. Later at Geelong. He married on 3 October 1855 at the residence of the Rev. William Higgins, Geelong, Victoria to Rebecca Higgins, daughter of the Rev. William Higgins, Congregational minister, and his wife Frances, nee Hart. Ordained on 9 December 1855 at the Lonsdale Street Church, Melbourne. Appointed to Gisborne. Left because of ill-health in April 1856. Briefly at Portland in 1857. Retired for health reasons. Died on 23 December 1860 at Marnockvale, Geelong, Victoria and was buried at the Eastern Cemetery, Geelong, Vic.
