Born in 1817 in County Wexford, Ireland, the second son of Robert Brownrigg, farmer, of Norris Mount, Camolin, County Wexford. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin (B.A.,1840). Arrived at Melbourne on 27 December 1850 per "Alert" from Hobart, Van Diemen's Land. He was married on 8 January 1851 by Bishop Charles Perry at St. Peter's, Eastern Hill, Melbourne to Adelaide Georgianna Watson, second daughter of J. Watson, merchant, of Melbourne. In 1858 he was at St. Paul's, White Hills, and St. Peter's, Patterson's Plains, Tasmania. Returned to Ireland in 1871. Died on 30 January 1889 at Norris Mount, Camolin, County Wexford, Ireland.
