SANDERS TROTMAN

(1824-1911) ( Baptist - Particular )

Born on 12 March 1824 at Bayswater, London, England the son of Sanders Trotman, of Bayswater, London and his wife Frances. He married on 14 September 1846 at St. George's Church, London, England to Mary Williams, daughter of William Williams, of Methyr Tydvil, Wales and his wife Mary, nee Williams. Worked for the London City Mission in England. Arrived at Geelong on 28 October 1849 per "Tasman" from London, England, with his wife and child. In 1850 he was minister of a newly formed Particular Baptist Church which met in the Temperance Hall in Geelong. Went to the goldfields at Ballarat. Storekeeper with premises at Skene Street, Geelong in 1856. Local Councillor for Newton and Chilwell. He died on 5 June 1911 at his residence, cnr. Bayswater & West Melbourne Roads, Newtown, Geelong, Victoria and was buried on 7 June 1911 at the Eastern Cemetery, Geelong, Vic.
