Rev. WILLIAM LOWE

(1817-1891) ( Wesleyan Methodist )

Born on 11 February 1817 at Wybunbury, Cheshire, England the son of Joseph Lowe, farmer. Entered the ministry in 1841 or 1844. Arrived at Sydney, New South Wales in 1843. Arrived at Melbourne on 25 August 1845 per "Martha & Elizabeth" from Sydney. Appointed to Geelong. There till 1847. He married firstly, on 18 September 1850 at the residence of Capt. Rodda, Angaston, South Australia to Mary Rodda. At Perth, Western Australia (1852-55). At York, W.A. (1856-58). In South Australia. At Perth, W.A. (1866-70). In Tasmania. At Perth, W.A. (1873-78). He married secondly, on 8 March 1876 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Guildford, Western Australia to Mary Jane Hardey, daughter of Joseph Hardy, farmer, and his wife Ann. Died on 19 May 1891 at his residence at York, Western Australia and was buried on 20 May 1891 at the Wesleyan Cemetery, Perth, Western Australia.
