Rev. FREDERICK LEWIS

(1810-1863) ( Wesleyan Methodist )

Born in 1810 in Wales. Entered the ministry in 1834. Sent to New South Wales in 1835. He married firstly on 14 September 1837 at Bathurst, N.S.W., to Mary Tom Lane, daughter of William Lane of Orton Park, Bathurst, N.S.W. His wife died on 29 December 1838 at Bathurst, N.S.W. At Windsor, N.S.W. He married secondly, on 13 May 1840 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Windsor, N.S.W., to Isabella Willis, third daughter of Thomas Willis of Fifeshire, Scotland. At the Maitland and South Sydney Circuits. Came to Port Phillip, arriving at Melbourne on 9 November 1850 per "Shamrock" from Sydney, N.S.W., and was stationed at Geelong. Became a supernumerary in 1854 and returned to England in 1855. At North Place, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. At Canonbury, London, Middlesex. Died on 12 March 1863 at 192 St. Paul's Road, Canonbury, London, Middlesex, England.
