Rev. ROBERT COLQUHON FLOCKART

(1820-1898) ( Wesleyan Methodist )

Born on 17 January 1820 at Glasgow, Scotland the son of John Flockhart, weaver and merchant, and his wife Isabel, nee Sinclair. Arrived at Melbourne from London, England on 5 May 1847 as religious instructor on the "Thomas Arbuthnot". Returned to England. He married on 20 March 1849 at the Alverstoke Parish Church, Hampshire, England, to Ann Elizabeth Munday, daughter of Isaac Munday, baker. He returned to Melbourne on 8 August 1849 with his wife per "Randolph", acting as religious instructor during the voyage. Entered the Methodist ministry in 1850. In South Australia in 1851. Died on 29 January 1898 at his residence, "Clydeville", Seymour Avenue, Malvern, Victoria, and was buried on 31 January 1898 at the Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton, Vic.
